Cambodia week 4

this is a photo of me playing Ki O Rahi. it is a traditional maori game where you have to touch the pou and dive to get points or shoot the tipu to get points.  I like playing this game because it is a maori game and I am very good at playing it. my mum taught me how to play because she does this for her work. In this photo i am the kaitiaki. I have to stop the taniwha from shooting the tipu.

Football is the popular game played in Cambodia as well as martial arts.  Sepak takraw is a game that looks like volleyball.  Another sport is khmer kickboxing and khmer traditional wrestling.

Here is a picture of people playing football.  We call it soccer.

in soccer you play for 2 45 minute halves. each team has a minimum off 11 players. I think football is played all year around.

out of all the sports we play in new zealand i think that rugby league is the best because

1. i play the game
2. we have a team in the nrl
3. all my friends play it
4. we get lollies or chocolate after our game
5. its a team game where everyone has fun

This language is weird because i dont evne know what simbal is what letter.

The food that the cambodian people eat are rice soup (congee) grilled pork or chicken and rice and beef or pork noodle soup.  those are their main meals for breakfast lunch and dinner.

 

 I still prefer my favourites weetbix for breakfast.

New country - Cambodia Week 1

Today is Monday 20th February 2017 and my mum told me to choose another country to blog about because I've done all the stuff for Japan and I needed to keep doing something.

I have been really busy with my softball trainings.  I have also been doing some exercise with my uncles and cousins. We are doing the firebreak walk 2 times a week in waiwhetu.  we are training for a hunting fishing thing. but i'm using this as my training before rugby league starts.
Finding the time to keep on blogging has been hard, but i want to win the laptop and keira is starting to catch up.

The second country i am chosing is Cambodia.  I don't know anything about Cambodia YET.

The capital city of cambodia is Phnom Penh
The population is 1.502 million in 2012
Phnom Penh is a tropical savanna climate with dry winters

the langauge most spoken in cambodia is khmer

round the bays - 19th february 2017

 i did the round the bays run in wellington with some people in Avalon intermediate. i had to get up at 6:30 to get ready for the 6.5k run but i did'int listen so i went back to sleep and got up at 7:00 i had too rush to get ready cause i had to be at Avalon intermediate at 7:10 to get my stuff on once we were all ready we got on the bus and left. when we got there we had to wait for 1 hour to run it took for a long time.
My family came to see me cross the line. After that we went for a dive with my uncle and cousin. I got 1 paua 4 kina and 6 kutai.

the weekend

in the weekend my mum, dad, two sisters and I went on the Mana bus all the way up to Auckland because we were going to the 9's. so we had to get up at 6:00 and get ready to leave and go to wellington to catch our bus. once we got to wellington we got on the bus and left to Auckland. it took 8 or 9 hours to get their so I went to sleep most of the ride. once we got to Auckland we waited for my cousin Piri to pick us up when he picked us up we went to my uncles place and stayed there for a few minutes then went to my cousins place and stayed their. in the morning i had a shower then we all went on the bus to the train station. next we waited for the train so we could get on once we got to our destination we got of and went to Edin park to go watch the 9's. once it was finished we went home and had a sleep. next day we all woke up and all got dressed up and i dressed up as a tutu ninja and did the same thing as what i did yesterday after that i took some photos of me and some players. on Monday we had to go back to Wellington for school so i packed my bag and waited for my uncle to get up so we could leave to the Mana bus. once he got up we left and when we arrived at the bus my uncle shouted us some burger king and sushi from the mall.
and left Auckland.
